FLEE is a cultural engineering platform dedicated to the documentation and enhancement of hybrid cultures. They dive into forgotten musical phenomena and invite contemporary artists to revisit songs from various periods and genres.

This project aims to honour the memory, the culture and the music of the valiant free-divers of the Gulf who fish pearls.

A 2xLP vinyl compilation containing undisclosed original recordings of pearl divers and inspired modern-day compositions by artists like Tomaga, YPY, Aya Metwalli, Joakim, Tarek Yamani or Hieroglyphic Being.

A 240 pages book in Arabic and English that includes essays, archive and contemporary photographs as well as commissions from regional experts and artists, questioning this century-old culture from original point of views, contextualizing the tremendously rich theme that is pearling and its music.
